The weather in the Galapagos, between December to May, is generally hot and sunny with sporadic rain, the temperature varies between 20 C and 31 C. The water is clear, which makes this a great time for snorkelling and diving. For those concerned about seasickness, the seas are also calmer during this time of year.
From June to November, there is a little breeze and the temperature drops, ranging between 16 C and 25 C. The seas can be a little rougher at this time of year, especially from August to October. The trade-off is that the cooler water is rich in plankton, which attracts more fish and birdlife, so this is often the preferred season for snorkelling.
