Are flights included?
We don't include International flights but all domestic transport is included. Flashpackers come from all over the world so everyone books their own flights and we all meet on day 1 of the adventure. If you would like help finding the best flights our Escape Artists are here to help.
Which airport do I need to fly into?
For our Guatemala and Belize adventure make sure you book flights into Guatemala City- International Airport La Aurora (GUA)
Which airport do I need to depart from?
Make sure you book flights home from home from Belize City - Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE)
By what time should my flight arrive? (so, arrive in time for the welcome meeting)
Ideally, you would like to arrive in Guatemala City by 16h00. This will allow sufficient time for you to get to the hotel and refresh before the evening get together. The transfer from the airport to the hotel is roughly 45 minutes.
What time should my flight depart on the last day?
There are no plans on the last day, so feel free to leave anytime after 10am, the water taxi schedule (first departure 6am – departures every hour to an hour and a half and last departure from the island is at 4pm).
Does the luggage allowance the same for the internal flights as international carriers?
No, the luggage allowance on the domestic flight is very strict. The baggage allowance is 15.9kgs for your main bag and 5kg for your hand luggage.
Customers can also pay $1 more per pound over this weight limit but excess baggage will be accepted as conditional and subject to availability within the plane. If there is space available, it will be sent on the same flight, otherwise it will be sent on the next available flight.
If you want to buy additional luggage TAG airlines allows up to 35 pounds (15.8kg) for $ 35.00 per person.
What airline will we fly with for the internal flights?
The plan is to fly with TAG airlines.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
It is best to call our local team in Guatemala, the number will be listed in your app. They will arrange for the airport transfer to happen at a later time so that there is someone to pick you up when you arrive.
