Should I change money before I go?
It is best to change your money before you leave in order to secure a good rate, however it will be possible to change your money locally either at the airport, banks or travel agents. Do let the pack leader know if you would like help with this.
How much should I budget per day for extras?
Around $30 - $50 a day should be plenty, but this is guidance only as you know your spending patterns better than we do.
Is it customary to tip?
While tipping is not a traditional part of culture in Myanmar it is becoming more common as tourism increases, and is appropriate when you have experienced excellent service. Gratuities aren’t compulsory on your trip, but they can make a big difference to locals employed in the tourism industry. Carrying small notes of local currency will make tipping easier. It is best to avoid tipping with coins, very small denomination notes, or dirty and ripped notes, as this can be regarded as an insult. You should only tip your pack leader at the end of the adventure if you feel they have deserved it and it is not mandatory.
