What's the weather like?
April to June:
This is the most popular time to visit China as the weather is generally pleasant everywhere and everything looks great during spring. The north is warm and dry, so you’ll be comfortable outside, only needing a light jacket in the evenings. The south is warmer but experiences a wet season, which can sometimes disrupt plans. Early morning mist makes for some breathtaking photos over the Great Wall!
July to August:
Summer is the peak travel season in China, as everyone is off from school all over the world. You should anticipate high humidity, especially in the cities and temperatures up to 40˚C. This is a very enjoyable time to visit, just make sure you are prepared with enough water and sunscreen.
September to October:
Much like April to June, this is a very enjoyable time to plan your trip, although temperatures usually run slightly higher than they so in the spring. Temperatures tend to drop in the evening though, so take some warmer clothes for then.
November to March:
Winters in China are generally very cold, although this varies from north to south. The north bears the worst of it, with the temperature frequently falling below 0˚C.
