What is the local currency?
The local currency in Morocco is the dirham (MAD).
Should I change money before I go?
Morocco is very much a cash based economy, so having cash is best. There are ATM’s available but often non functioning or long queues at the bank. In many places you can pay in both US dollars or Euros so bringing a little of these will be helpful too.
How much should I budget per day for extras?
Although many meals and activities are included in the price of your trip, we recommend having a few extra pennies to cover meals, wine and those all important massages. Around £30 - 50 a day should be fine, but this is guidance only as you know your spending patterns better than we do.
Is it customary to tip?
For everyday life, we recommend between £3 - 6 a day which you can give to your guide to distribute equally. Then for your guide and driver, it is customary, though not compulsory to tip them around £5 per day, this would normally be given at the end of the adventure and is completely up to you and whether you feel they have earnt it. For restaurants and bars it is normal to tip around 10%.
