What's the weather like?
The weather is generally sunny with clear skies although there are also periods possible where it can be overcast with possible rain.
Places such as Muscat, Nizwa, Wadi Shab etc. will generally be similar in temperatures, whereas it will be about 10-15 degrees cooler in the mountains throughout the year and in the desert. It would generally be slightly hotter during the day and cooler during the nights.
June is the hottest month in Muscat with an average temperature of 95°F (35°C) and the coldest is January at 70°F (21°C) with the most daily sunshine hours at 13 in June. The wettest month is February with an average of 30mm of rain.
When is the best time of year to visit Oman?
Oman has a reliably warm climate and, as long as you avoid the scorching summer months between June and August, can be visited any time.
The weather is at its most pleasant from October through to April, when temperatures are warm but cooler than the sweltering summer months and turtles can be seen at Ras al Jinz.
