Do I need to get any vaccinations before travelling?
The CDC and WHO recommend the following vaccinations for Tanzania: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, cholera, yellow fever, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia and influenza.
Please consult your doctor or a specialist travel clinic in advance of travelling.
Am I travelling to a Malarial area?
Tanzania has a high risk of Malaria. Prophylaxis is recommended for all areas, except for altitudes over 1800 m (5906 ft). The risk is lower in Dar es Salaam than in rural areas.
Again, please consult your doctor or a specialist travel clinic in advance of travelling.
