What items do I need to purchase that are not part of an everyday wardrobe?
Before you travel, we’ll make sure that you have a full packing list available. This will be on the Tineri app and it will inform you of everything that will be required for the trip.
What should I pack?
Generally, you’ll need comfortable, warm and waterproof clothes. Layers are best because you can always take them off. It’s also vital to pack a pair of hiking boots for the glacier hike.
If the sun’s out, the reflection from the glacier can be stronger than you think so bring sunglasses and sunscreen.
For relaxing in the Blue Lagoon’s deliciously warm waters, you’ll need to pack swimwear. Also, if you have a driving licence, bring it for the quad biking!
A full packing list will be available on the Tineri app before your trip begins.
Will the provided equipment fit me?
We ensure that all our Flashpackers are provided with the highest quality equipment. Most equipment sizes will be available, but if you have any specific requests, please get in touch.
What's the luggage allowance?
Your luggage weight allowance will be specific to your airline but it’s also worth making sure that you can comfortably carry your baggage. We recommend limiting yourself to one large bag and one carry on bag.
Can I bring a suitcase or do I need a backpack?
It’s up to you whether you bring a suitcase or a backpack. We recommend bringing whichever you find more comfortable because you’ll need to be able to carry your baggage. We also suggest bringing a small backpack to carry things like a camera and a water bottle whilst on excursions.
What plugs are used, do I need to bring a travel adaptor?
Wall outlets in Iceland normally accommodate standard European plugs with two or three pins, known as types C and F. The electricity runs with 230 volts and with a frequency of 50Hz.
You will need to bring an adapter with you if you’re travelling from a country that doesn’t use these plug types.
