At Flash Pack, we’ve set ourselves the ambitious target of becoming a carbon neutral company by 2023. We will achieve this through carbon reduction and offsetting. As a Flashpacker, you can lower your energy consumption by following these simple tips.
- When possible, make the journey by foot or bike
- Turn off AC when it’s not needed
- Turn off taps and keep showers short
- Don’t change your sheets and towels every day
Walking is a fantastic way to explore a new town or city. Not only will you be reducing your carbon footprint but you’ll also see, hear and smell so much more of your incredible new surroundings.
If your hotel room has air-conditioning, make sure you turn it off before you leave the room and remember to turn any lights off if they’re on unnecessarily.
Reduce your water consumption by turning off taps when they’re not in use and keeping showers short. It’s great to get in the habit of remembering to turn the tap off when you’re cleaning your teeth or washing your face.
Many hotels will offer to change your sheets and towels every day. If you don’t need fresh linen, actively requesting that they don’t get changed to help to reduce your travel carbon footprint.
