Generally, we avoid the inclusion of animal experiences on our trips unless our Animal Welfare team has thoroughly vetted the company and interaction. We are constantly looking to improve animal welfare in the countries we visit, and Flashpackers can follow these tips to ensure they responsibly engage with animals.
- Raise any concerns over animal interactions with our team
- Never pay to have your picture taken with wild animals
- Never purchase souvenirs made from wild animals
We are working with projects in-country to develop their programmes further so that they can improve their conservation efforts. We want to be able to support these projects and give them the opportunity to thrive, instead of disregarding them if they do not currently have the knowledge or funding to improve.
These improvements are crucial to projects in developing countries. Through working together to improve the welfare of the animals, we can influence similar projects nearby and spread awareness of conservation efforts all around.
By working alongside local projects rather than disregarding them if they don’t immediately meet our standards, we can actively create a positive legacy for the future.
If you have concerns over any animal interactions or experiences you encounter, please raise this with our team so that we can investigate the issue further.
