What time do the activities start on each day?
Your days will normally start at around 9 am. Your transfer to Lima airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado will be significantly earlier, but this will be an exception due to having to get to the airport for an early flight.
How long is each activity?
Generally, activities will either take half a day, in which case they will last about 4 ½ hours, or they’ll be a full day and take about 7 ½ hours. You can use the Tineri app to see a full itinerary of your trip before your adventure begins. You’ll also be reminded of the itinerary at the welcome meeting!
Do we have much free time?
Yes, there will be plenty of free time for you to explore the local markets and soak up the Peruvian culture. A full itinerary will be available on Tineri before your trip.
Will we get life jackets for the Amazon boat? I can’t swim.
Yes. In the interest of passenger safety, life jackets are mandatory for all passengers.
I don’t like heights and am worried about the rope bridge in the Amazon. Could I meet the group around the other side?
No problem at all, you’ll be able to join the group on the other side of the rope bridge and continue with the rest of the adventure!
I don’t know how to ride a bike, is there an alternative activity?
If bike riding isn’t for you, you’ll be able to take in the extraordinary panoramic views of Maras and Moray from the vehicle that will be following the group. If you’re not a confident cyclist but would like to take part in the activity, the route doesn’t take in any steep hills so you can take the cycle at your own pace.
What is there to do during the free time in the Sacred Valley?
The options are limitless, so it’s up to you what you get up to in your free time. You could visit an Ecological farm and learn about the harvests, appreciate the sunset and learn about Andean astronomy or stroll the various trails and spot fabulous native birds, from hawks to hummingbirds! Your Pack Leader will be more than happy to advise on all your options.
I am a runner, can I run each morning? Is it safe?
You can run in Lima, however, we wouldn’t recommend running in the Sacred Valley or Cusco due to road traffic. Your Pack Leader will be able to offer advice on the best places to run.
