What fitness levels do I need for this trip?
The gorilla trekking can be challenging, so Flashpackers should be prepared for up to 5 hours of walking. The distance and elevation that the trek will cover won’t be known until the day of the trek, so it can vary. For the kayaking, all fitness-levels will be able to take part as there will be a support boat present if you get tired.
If you’d like to discuss the fitness levels required for the gorilla trekking with one of our friendly Trip Experts, please get in touch.
Do I need to be able to swim or ride a bike?
Unfortunately, if you are unable to swim, you won’t be able to take part in the kayaking activity, but your Pack Leader will be able to suggest alternative activities. Again, if you are unable to cycle, your Pack Leader will be able to suggest an alternative activity.
Please get in touch with one of our Trip Experts if you have any questions about the activities on this adventure.
If I cannot ride a bike/swim what can I do whilst the others ride/swim?
During the water-based activities, any Flashpacker not taking part will you will be able to follow the group in a support boat. During the cycling activity, you can either relax at the hotel or ask your Pack Leader to suggest alternative activities.
How long is each of the treks?
It’s very difficult to say how long the gorilla trek will be, as wildlife is constantly on the move. Flashpackers should be prepared for up to 5 hours of walking.
