What clothing is recommended for the treks?
We recommend that you wear light long trousers and a t-shirt. It’s also a good idea to ensure that you have a rain jacket or poncho as you could be exposed to the elements.
What do I need to carry with me on the treks?
In your bag, we’d recommend keeping a water bottle, your camera, insect repellent, sun cream, any medication you require and some snacks.
How much of the Inca Trail do we do?
You will complete the final stage of the Inca Trail to enter the Sun Gate. You’ll wind your way up a beautiful mountain path during this 5-hour hike and your Pack Leader will be offering fascinating insights into this uniquely Peruvian environment.
What if someone gets sick/injured doing the trek? Will we get escorted back?
Your Pack Leader will ensure that Flashpackers are safe at all times. Rest assured that in the event of an illness or injury, your Pack Leader will communicate with the Adventure Staff and will follow the necessary precautions.
I’ve never experienced high altitudes; will this be a problem?
Some people are able to acclimatise faster to high altitudes than others, so it depends on your body. We recommend that on the first day in Cusco you get plenty of rest and drink lots of water. Your Pack Leader will have more information to help you acclimatise to the altitude.
